Week 3- Revising

This week we are accomplished reevaluating our Genius Hour proposal. We found that we should have put more detail into the proposal in order to make our mission more clear. We want to add more details about where we will get the makeup and costs.
Specifically right now, we are working on adding these details to our proposal. This includes doing more research on every part of our project in order to make our project as a whole, better and more organized.
We will continue working on our skills. Both Saylor and I are still advancing our makeup skills on our own and hopefully in the future, better skills for makeup on other people!

Week 2- Budgeting

This week, we successfully accomplished doing research on different brushes and tools. We learned about the average cost based on quality and longevity. On the more expensive side, companies such as MAC, Urban Decay, or Sephora range prices from $50 to $75 for their brush kits. On the less expensive side, we can find brush kits from Target or any drug store for $15 to $30.
We are currently working on more research for makeup such as foundation, mascara, and eyeshadow. We are planning to put together a general budget for us to spend. We do not want to spend lots of money if we do not have to, so we are doing lots of research to find the best prices for the best quality of makeup and tools.
After our research we are planning to work on our skills. We want to be able to have good skills in order to make their day the best it can be. We will have help from our mentor Char Braden plus our own research and practice to improve our makeup skills.

     Love is Beauty

My partner, Saylor Kirschner, and I, Naomi Nicholas, are starting this blog to keep you updated on our project and our progress through it.
What are our goals for this project?
Our goal for our project, Love is Beauty, is to help women who have been hurt or abused in any way. We want these women to feel strong, beautiful, and loved. 1 in 3 women are victims to some sort of physical violence. Many times when women are abused, their self-esteem lowers significantly, so we want to give them makeovers and a fun-filled day. We have a mentor who will be guiding us through this project by giving us advice and tips when we need help.
How will we measure our progress?
In order to measure our progress, we are going to be keeping up with this blog every week. The post will include information about what we did that week and what we are currently working on. We want you to know exactly what we are doing and how we are doing it.

We are very excited to begin this journey and help these women!
