Moving Forward

Hello! This week my partner, Naomi and I, have been working on finding ingredients for our lip balm that we will be attempting to make from home. We have found a type of homemade lip balm that is very healthy for your lips and it is also something that many people love. The ingredients include 1/4 cup oil, 1/4 cup of shea or cocoa butter, a type of wax like soy wax, essential oils, and powdered herbs for color. We will begin trying it out and trying to make it this week. The prices to get these supplies will not be very expensive. We will have a budget of 50 dollars. We are researching where to find the supplies and the costs of them this week. Most of the supplies will be able to be found a regular grocery stores or online. We are both so excited to see how this lip balm turns out!

The Future

This weeks blog will be about how this project might be helpful for our future and college. A successful project like ours can help my partner and I standout to colleges. Colleges look for students who not only do well in school but also students who can show their creativity and ability to go further than themselves to help others. They want someone who can excel in their profession with the skills they have and then learn more to make themselves better. This project helps us learn how to do things on our own and connect with people outside in the professional world instead having a teacher or parent do it for us. Skills like these will help us in college but also in our personal lives. Depending on what career we go into, we might need these skills every single day or at least for part of our job. As we mature into adults, it is essential we have problem solving skills to help us when we run into issues with everything from work to personal struggles. When we have our own kids, we can pass down our knowledge to them so they can have the same skills one day too. Potentially, this project can have a very positive effect on our lives if we utilize it to our advantage.
